Monolith near Edor

There are the Akwanshi of the Ekoi people. The pre-Cambrian granite, which lies exposed in stream beds, and from which the Akwanshi are carved, is very hard and must have required much labour. Not a great deal is known about them, but the earliest may date from the 16^th century. Several good example are now in the grounds of Lagos Museum, while many others remain in situ.
