EKOI PEOPLE
|
||||||||||||
There are the Akwanshi of the Ekoi people. The
pre-Cambrian granite, which lies exposed in stream beds, and from which the
Akwanshi are carved, is very hard and must have required much labour. Not a
great deal is known about them, but the earliest may date from the 16th
century. Several good example are now in the grounds of Lagos Museum, while many
others remain in situ.
